Get to know Appenzell’s most famous resident a little better. On a guided tour through the headquarters of Appenzeller Alpenbitter, you’ll learn everything there is to know about the high-percentage herbal liqueur.

sightseeing goba mineral springs
Visit Gontenbad and see the mineral springs and the headquarters of Goba AG, the local mineral water producer. There, you can see how their premium fine juices and soft drinks are made and bottled.

Many paths appear snow-covered in different lights and from different perspectives.
Enjoy a hike on the groomed trails and explore the Appenzell winter wonderland.
ice skating
Here in Appenzell, you can lace up your ice skates and take to a natural ice rink as your stage. The rinks are illuminated with night lighting until 9.30 pm.
cross-country skiing
Perfectly groomed trails await you during the winter months. No matter whether you make the rounds in classic style or zip along at speed, you’ll find two different cross-country skiing centres in the region to cater to all needs.
